Nim’s Island Movie Review
Nim's Island I had debated on watching or not for a few days as it wasn't really the kind of movie I was interested in. I thought it was more of a children's movie. I finally decided to finally watch it and was charmed from the first scene. Jody Foster has such a strong stage presence that comes across this movie so realistically. Her character is almost child like at times, shy and unsure of herself. she lives through her action character that she creates in her books.
I loved how her book character came to life and helped guide her to Nim's Island to save the little girl. The imagination of the characters and how they all interconnected really was a thrill to watch. The pirates arriving on the island and how the girl tried to drive them away showed such imagination. I enjoyed watching the scenes play out where Jody Foster was trying to find her way to Nim's Island. I especially liked the part when Jody Foster had to get out of the boat and and to shore and her guide didn't seem to understand English.
Watching the Father of the little girl com to shore and run face to face with Jody Foster's character was romantic and very appealing to the storyline. It is nice to have a happy ending for a change. It also left it open for a sequel which this time I wouldn't hesitate to watch. Nim's Island was a great movie and perfect for a family movie night or a romantic night together. We watched it on our satellite tv we got from tvbydirect.com
