Manage your diabetes with a diet menu

Diabetes is a disease associated with loss of Insulin. Insulin carries sugar to the cells for release of oxygen. When the capacity of sugar to be carried away to the cells diminish or completely fritter away, sugar remains in the blood stream. This causes Hyperglycemia or Diabetes. While Juvenile Diabetes is largely attributable to heredity, Type II diabetes or Adult Diabetes chiefly results from overindulgence.

Diabetes requires insulin injections, boosters, and pills but most importantly it requires careful examination of one’s diet. Diabetics need to be moderate in their indulgences. Sweets and artificially sweetened foods are to be avoided strictly. Food that is high in calories or that can’t be easily processed shall be avoided too. Trans fat and saturated fats are also in the list of “don’ts” as they create problems for the heart. Diabetics must understand that diabetes can quickly ramify into problems of heart, nerve and feet.

Foods that are rich in electrolytes shall be taken with due care and allergens shall be avoided. Foods that cause allergic swellings can create ground for inflammation and septicemia during diabetes.

Diabetes can be fought but you need to tighten yourself against your propensity towards overindulgence.
